How Much Should a UK Dental Practice Spend on Ads?
The honest answer to 'how much should we spend' is: enough to run consistently for a quarter without it becoming a source of anxiety. Everything else follows from that.

Start with what you can sustain
A budget that is cut in week three teaches you nothing. Set a monthly figure the practice can commit to for three months, and treat that as the experiment. Consistency produces data; stop-start spending produces noise.
Let the treatment value set the ceiling
A practice advertising implants can justify a higher enquiry cost than one advertising hygiene appointments, because a single accepted case covers considerably more spend. Work back from realistic case value and realistic acceptance rates — not best-case ones.
Separate spend from fees
Advertising spend goes to the platform. Setup and management fees go to whoever builds and runs the campaign. Keeping the two separate makes the economics visible and stops a fee increase being disguised as a media cost.
Be sceptical of guaranteed cost-per-lead
Cost per enquiry moves with season, competition, creative fatigue and platform changes. A provider quoting a fixed figure in advance is either guessing or planning to count enquiries generously.
Review against the tracker, not the dashboard
Platform dashboards report clicks and form fills. The practice tracker reports attended consultations and accepted treatment. Budget decisions should follow the tracker.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a minimum viable budget?
Below a certain level the campaign cannot gather enough data to improve. Rather than a universal number, ask whether the budget can produce a meaningful number of enquiries per week in your area for at least three months.
Should we increase spend when results look good?
Increase gradually and check that enquiry quality holds. Sharp budget increases often raise cost per enquiry before they raise volume.
Who pays the platform?
The practice, directly, from its own ad account. That keeps control of the account, the data and the ability to pause.
